What's My Home Worth?
Most buyers and sellers by now know about,, and
These are 3 very useful websites to search for your dream home and/or try to get a ball park value of an specific property. As a Certified Residential Appraiser, I get calls all the time regarding Zestimated value on gathers the information from public records and the multiple listing services, MLS, for comparable sold in your neighborhood and then, without verifying those information, they average out the price per square foot and suggest a 'Zestimated Value'. The Key is 'Zestimate', cause does not account for the fact that every property is unique(first thing you learn in Appraisal School). For example their Zestimate, does not differentiate between a fixer upper and a home that has been upgraded. They also do not account for views, year built, pool, and so on. I think of these websites as a tool to get an idea about some data in your neighborhood, however after playing around with these websites, you need to consult with a knowledgeable local Realtor who can help you with your Real Estate needs. If you would like to know my opinion of value about your home and/or if you have any Real Estate questions, Just drop me an email or call my cell.

Remember that will kick back part of their commission, but they may not be able to get the buyer the best deal. For example, lets say you buy a home through for $500,000, Redfin will kick back 50% of their commission to the buyer(that's about $5,000 to $7,000, but another agent who is not kicking back his commission, might be able to negotiate the same home for $475,000, which in the latter case, the buyer may end up saving far more than the kick back from Redfin
